The ISSI 2011 Conference takes place at the DUT Ritson Campus, in the Mainsfield Hall plus at two other smaller lecture rooms close by Building E, the lunch and coffee site. These two lecture rooms are also the locations for the doctoral forum and tutorials on July 4.

The choice of Durban to be the conference city is significant. Durban (http://www.world66.com/africa/southafrica/durban/lib/gallery) is considered to be Africa's leading conference destination; is a vibrant city with a harmonious blend of African, Asian and European culture, and is located in the historical Kingdom of the Zulu nation in the KwaZulu-Natal province that is a gateway to African culture in South Africa. Durban is also South Africa's only destination of tropical summers, with 320 sunny days a year.  Durban University of Technology, the conference venue that is located close to the city Central Business District (CBD), is one of the 23 public universities in South Africa that focuses on technology oriented vocational and professional higher education with 23,000 students enrolment. The University has allocated its conference facility for the ISSI conference.
